AB1329 INTERAPOPHYSEAL JOINTS INJECTION UNDER ULTRASOUND GUIDANCE AN ALTERNATIVE TO FLUOROSCOPY GUIDANCE

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background Ultrasound-guided injections are an alternative to evaluate, it eliminates the risk of ionizing radiation for both patient and practitioner as fluoroscopic procedures require a radiology technician, increase overall support time cost, decrease accessibility. Objectives The main objective study was compare short-term efficacy posterior inter-apophyseal joint infiltrations under ultrasound versus scopic guidance. Methods Observational, retrospective, single-centre study. Patients benefited from zygapophysial joints injection(s) fluoroscopy or follow-up consultation at one month. Results Data 54 patients collected. evolution VAS 1 month on average - 31.4cm (p <0.001) in group 31.3cm with no statistically significant difference between two groups =0.835). There were injection-related complications either during follow-up. consumption NSAIDs = 1.00). Statistically differences procedure observed longer recorded 0.007). Conclusion A corticosteroid injection allows reduction pain after found techniques. Injection reliable, accessible safe alternative. Disclosure Interests None declared

Ethanol injection under ultrasound guidance to palliate unresectable parathyroid carcinoma.

BACKGROUND Severe hypercalcemia is the leading cause of death in patients with parathyroid carcinoma. Non-curative resection and pharmacological measures may be useful for palliation in cases with recurrent and metastatic disease. Palliative treatment with intra-neoplastic ethanol injection has not been reported yet. METHODS Ultrasound-guided percutaneous alcohol injection in one patient with...

Steroid injection for hip osteoarthritis: efficacy under ultrasound guidance.

OBJECTIVE To determine the efficacy of IA corticosteroid (CS) injection in pain reduction for hip OA under ultrasound (US) guidance. METHODS Forty patients [mean age 62.78 (8.16) years] fulfilling ACR criteria for hip OA, with synovitis detected at US, gave their consent for IA US-guided CS injection because of pain refractory to conventional therapy. At baseline, at 1 and 3 months, patients ...

An image-guidance system for dynamic dose calculation in prostate brachytherapy using ultrasound and fluoroscopy.

PURPOSE Brachytherapy is a standard option of care for prostate cancer patients but may be improved by dynamic dose calculation based on localized seed positions. The American Brachytherapy Society states that the major current limitation of intraoperative treatment planning is the inability to localize the seeds in relation to the prostate. An image-guidance system was therefore developed to l...

Active Ultrasound Pattern Injection System (AUSPIS) for Interventional Tool Guidance

Accurate tool tracking is a crucial task that directly affects the safety and effectiveness of many interventional medical procedures. Compared to CT and MRI, ultrasound-based tool tracking has many advantages, including low cost, safety, mobility and ease of use. However, surgical tools are poorly visualized in conventional ultrasound images, thus preventing effective tool tracking and guidanc...

Lumboperitoneal shunt insertion without fluoroscopy guidance :

Lumboperitoneal (LP) shunts were the mainstay of cerebrospinal Background: fluid diversion therapy for idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH). The traditionally cited advantage of LP shunts over ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunts is the ease of insertion in IIH. This needs to be placed at the level of L3/4 to be below the level of the spinal cord. The objective of this study was to analyse th...
